"You've found the perfect 'Rinconcito' to taste authentic homemade Antigua Guatemalan food"
Have you tasted our Pan Chapin yet?

Our History
Our story began in Antigua, Guatemala, with my family business, where I learned the importance of using original ingredients to cook my favorite regional dishes. Since then, I’ve always dreamed of bringing authentic Guatemalan cuisine to Austin.
In 2016, we started as a small take-out restaurant on Payton Gin and Lamar. We were fortunate to find a new location that can now host 65 customers with plenty of parking. My dream of bringing the taste of Guatemalan food has come alive. We welcome all nationalities to learn about our culture through our food. Bring the whole family!
We are a business with purpose
We have always thought of our business to have a greater purpose, being involved and helping our community is important to us.
Reviews
El Riconcito is an authentic Guatemalan restaurant featuring many items on their menu.
The portions are large and I especially loved their aguas frescas (the mango was delicious) and the Garnachas con Camaron.
I left Guatemala at the age of 10, and since then I’ve lived in different cities across the U.S. For years, this restaurant has been the only place where I’ve found truly authentic Guatemalan food—the kind that instantly takes me back to my childhood.
I’ve been coming here since their original Lamar location, long before it became what it is today. The flavors are exactly what I grew up with—food that tastes like it was made by my great-grandma or my mom. With my family spread throughout the U.S., I don’t get to eat homemade Guatemalan food often, but every visit here makes me feel at home.
When I met my current boyfriend, he suggested this place for our first date, which immediately told me he was a keeper. Since then, we’ve made it a tradition to come every month on the 29th to celebrate us.
The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff has been amazing and reliable throughout the years. Now they even have live marimba music on Sundays, which is a must-experience and adds such a beautiful cultural touch.
This place is more than just a restaurant—it’s memory, culture, comfort, and love. I’m incredibly grateful it continues to be here.
Very good taste of Central American food with excellent service. The coffee really shines with the Caldo de pollo.
This is my fourth time here, and the food is so yummy and homelike!
It has been consistent each and every time. Pics are from the most recent visit and the one prior to that 😛 (food is from the "traditional cravings/antojitos" portion of the menu).
This place was so delicious. Authentic Guatemalan tasting food. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. We ordered tamal de chipilin, tamal de pollo, atol de elote, and a few different breakfast options. Delicious. No complaints, i will say i wish their pan de frances was better, definitely tasted store bought and not made in house...but a little tamalito replaced that bread. Definitely returning.
