Come try it! You'll love it!

Our History
Our story began in Antigua, Guatemala, with my family business, where I learned the importance of using original ingredients to cook my favorite regional dishes. Since then, I’ve always dreamed of bringing authentic Guatemalan cuisine to Austin.
In 2016, we started as a small take-out restaurant on Payton Gin and Lamar. We were fortunate to find a new location that can now host 65 customers with plenty of parking. My dream of bringing the taste of Guatemalan food has come alive. We welcome all nationalities to learn about our culture through our food. Bring the whole family!
We are a business with purpose
We have always thought of our business to have a greater purpose, being involved and helping our community is important to us.

Amazing food and wonderful service! I had never tried Guatemalan cuisine before discovering this hidden gem, and now I find myself coming back every week. Everyone who works here is so kind and genuine, and every dish we’ve tried has been absolutely delicious. My personal favorites are the beef tacos, tamal, and fried plantains, but I’m excited to work my way through their extensive menu. The prices are great, the portions are generous, and the whole experience is just fantastic.
This is my fourth time here, and the food is so yummy and homelike!
It has been consistent each and every time. Pics are from the most recent visit and the one prior to that 😛 (food is from the "traditional cravings/antojitos" portion of the menu).
I had the number 30. The tamal and plantains were great. The three tostadas were incredible: I've never had that combination of flavors before that I can remember with fresh crispy pickled veggies and shredded chicken on the small ones and shredded chicken and whatever that creamy spread is on the big one. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service is fantastic. I also learned that "chapín" means "person from Guatemala"!
Had an amazing meal at Rinconcito Chapin! I ordered the chile rellenos, and wow—everything was packed with so much flavor. But the real star? The tortillas. So fresh, so fluffy, absolutely perfect.
Loved that they also have a little panadería and a nice selection of postres. Plus, the little gift shop section is a cool touch—lots of fun Guatemalan goodies to check out. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re craving authentic Guatemalan food!
Great lunch special too
The food is really good, but way too expensive. We bought 2 plates of food and came out close to $60. I think they are taking advantage, because it’s Central America food, and charge for using a credit card. We wont be back
